TREKKING IN THE SILA NATIONAL PARK – Sila Grande

Itinerary

FOSSIATA - ARNOCAMPO

The itinerary begins at the Park Arboretum, located in Sbanditi, an area of about 90 hectares that, once an abandoned former forest nursery, has been transformed by the Sila National Park Authority into a biodiversity garden. From here, we will head to the summit of Cozzo del Principe, a peak that offers spectacular views of the vastness of Sila.

We will continue our walk through lush forests, then reach the charming Macchialonga Lake, a corner of serenity surrounded by unspoiled nature. The next stage will take us to the summit of Serra Ripollata, from which we will enjoy breathtaking views.

The descent will then begin toward the Neto River valley, passing through the striking Arnocampo forest, where there are impressive specimens of centuries-old oaks. Here time seems to stand still, and the walk becomes almost meditative, amid the colors and sounds of a nature that still retains all its primordial power.
